Use of inner wall release agent: serum tube
The inner wall of the tube is uniformly coated with an anti-adhesive agent to prevent blood from sticking to the walls. It utilizes the principle of natural blood coagulation to allow the blood to clot, and after the serum naturally separates, it can be used for centrifugation.

Use sodium heparin or lithium heparin: plasma tube
Heparin enhances the inactivation of serine proteases by antithrombin, thereby preventing the formation of thrombin and exhibiting various anticoagulant effects, such as inhibiting platelet aggregation. Heparin tubes are generally used for emergency biochemical and blood rheology tests, making them a good choice for electrolyte testing. When testing sodium ions in blood specimens, heparin sodium should not be used to avoid affecting the test results. It should also not be used for white blood cell counting and classification, as heparin can cause white blood cell aggregation.
Use separation gel and coagulant: separation gel serum tube
The walls of the blood collection tube are treated with an anti-adhesion agent and coated with a coagulant to accelerate blood coagulation and shorten testing time. A separation gel is added inside the tube, which has good affinity with the PET tube, effectively serving as an isolating agent. Generally, even in a standard centrifuge, the separation gel can completely separate the liquid components (serum) from the solid components (blood cells) in the blood and accumulate them in the test tube to form a barrier. After centrifugation, no oil droplets are produced in the serum, thus preventing machine blockage.
Use coagulants: coagulation tube
The inner wall of the tube is uniformly coated with a non-stick agent, and a coagulant is added. The coagulant can activate fibrinogen, turning soluble fibrin into insoluble fibrin aggregates, thereby forming stable fibrin clots. In situations where quick results are needed, coagulant tubes can be used, which are generally used for emergency biochemistry.
Use EDTA: Complete Blood Count Tube
EDTA is an amino polycarboxylic acid that can effectively chelate calcium ions in the blood. Chelating calcium removes it from the reaction site, which prevents and terminates both endogenous and exogenous coagulation processes, thereby preventing blood clotting. Compared to other anticoagulants, it has a smaller impact on the aggregation of blood cells and the morphology of blood cells. Therefore, EDTA salts (2K, 3K, 2Na) are commonly used as anticoagulants. They are used for general hematological tests but cannot be used for coagulation, trace element, and PCR tests.
Contains potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride: blood glucose tube
Sodium fluoride is a weak anticoagulant that has a good effect in preventing the degradation of blood glucose, making it an excellent preservative for blood glucose testing. It is generally used for blood glucose testing and cannot be used for the urease method to determine urea, nor can it be used for the detection of alkaline phosphatase and amylase.
